PROGRAMS

Shelburne Youth Lacrosse is open to children in grades Kindergarten through 8th Grade organized as follows:

KINDERGARTEN
This is a Co-Ed program. Players will play for one hour on Saturday mornings.  They will learn basic lacrosse skills through games and drills.  Players may scrimmage during part of the practice. Players will play as one group and scrimmage against each other.
Equipment - As part of the registration fee players will receive a lacrosse stick. Players will receive a t-shirt. A mouthguard is optional.

GRADES ONE AND TWO
This is a Co-Ed program. Players will practice on one weekday evening for one hour and play a game for one hour on Saturday mornings. Players will be placed on a team and the teams will play against each other on Saturdays.  They will learn basic lacrosse skills through games and drills.  
Equipment - As part of the registration fee players will receive a lacrosse stick.  Players will receive a t-shirt. A mouthguard is optional.

BOYS GRADES 3/4
Boys at this level play in the Northern Vermont Youth Lacrosse League.  There are no scores reported at this level nor is there an end of the season tournament. They will practice on two weekday evenings for one and one-half hours. They will play games on Saturdays against other town teams. There may be some mid-week games.
Equipment - Players need to provide: lacrosse helmet, mouth guard, gloves, shoulder pads, elbow pads, cup, cleats and a stick.  Players must wear a mouth guard at all practices and games.  SYL will provide a game jersey.

GIRLS GRADES 3/4
Girls at this level play in the Northern Vermont Girl's Youth Lacrosse League.  They will practice on two weekday evenings for one and one-half hours. They will play games on Sundays against other town teams.  
Equipment - Players need to provide: eye goggles, mouth guard and a stick. Players will receive a game t-shirt.

BOYS GRADES 5/6
Boys at this level play in the Northern Vermont Youth Lacrosse League.  At Grade 5/6 score is kept in league games and there is a seeded playoffs.   Players will practice on two weekday evenings for one and one-half hours.  They will play games on Saturdays against other town teams.  There will be some mid-week games. If the number of players who register are large, two teams will be formed.
Equipment - Players need to provide: lacrosse helmet, mouth guard, gloves, shoulder pads, elbow pads, cup, cleats and a stick.  Players must wear a mouth guard at all practices and games.  SYL will provide a game jersey.

GIRLS GRADES 5/6
Girls at this level play in the Northern Vermont Girl's Youth Lacrosse League.  They will practice on two weekday evenings for one and one-half hours. They will play games on Sundays against other town teams.  
Equipment -  Players need to provide: eye goggles, mouth guard and a stick. Players will receive a game t-shirt.

BOYS GRADES 7/8
Boys at this level play in the Northern Vermont Youth Lacrosse League. Scores are kept by the league and there are playoffs.  If the number of players who register are large, two teams will be formed. Coaches will place players on a team at the appropriate competitive level. Teams will practice on three mid week evenings. All players will practice at the same time, but players may be doing different things. Games will be played on Saturday mornings. There may also be some mid-week games for all teams.
Equipment - Players need to provide: lacrosse helmet, mouth guard, gloves, shoulder pads, elbow pads, cup, cleats and a stick.  Players must wear a mouth guard at all practices and games.  SYL will provide a game jersey.

GIRLS GRADES 7/8
Girls at this level play in the Northern Vermont Girl's Youth Lacrosse League.  They will practice on three weekdays (either after school  or in the evening for one and one-half hours).  They will play games on Sundays against other town teams.  
Equipment - Players need to provide: eye goggles, mouth guard and a stick. Players will receive a game t-shirt.
